El Tapatio Authentic Mexican Food: A Taste of Tradition in Stillwater, OK

What an amazing place to have authentic Mexican cuisine. The servers are extremely friendly and always ask if everything is fine and get what you want. The service here is very friendly and well maintained. The ambience is very family friendly and peaceful. 10/10 recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a taste of Mexican food.

I was in town for Graduation this past May and we were looking for places to eat. We were staying on Perkins so it was an easy drive down. Be sure to check in on Yelp as they have a free offer. The outside patio is very nice if you want to sit outside and enjoy nature. It does have a nice green space next to it so it is not just a parking lot view. The restaurant was not busy even for an OSU graduation weekend which was good. The service was good and no issues. I went with the chimichanga with shredded chicken and it was ok. Not the best or worse I have ever had. The cheese sauce was a little light and the beans were a little spare but it was not bad. The flan was nothing fantastic and not a lot of flavor. Definitely needed a better caramel sauce to perk it up a bit. If i was back home i might give it a 3 but it is a solid Stillwater 4!! If you are in town they are a great option.

We really enjoy stopping at El tapatio when we take our dogs to the vet. The swrvice is always friendly despite how rushed and stressed they look. The staff are always buzzing around with plates of food. Our servers are prompt and hospitable. The inside looks like a hacienda that would be a great venue for a party. We really love how nice it is on the patio during the warm weather months. The guacamole is always packed with tomato and red onion. Today I tried the cheese enchiladas with the green sauce. The green sauce is a little too tangy for me and tastes like maybe the chili's weren't fire roasted before blending. The enchiladas themselves are tummy. The rice and beans are standard tex-mex fare & hit the spot when you need a carb fix.

Our first time eating here. We came in for lunch. I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup and my husband had the Chicken Chimichangas with rice and beans and the queso on the side. The food was amazing! We also ordered a guacamole as an appetizer. The salsa was good, the guacamole tasted fresh and the food was delicious! The service was great. We would definitely come back again! Everything tasted freshly made and authentic.

This restaurant was a great find during my business Travels through Stillwater Oklahoma. The locations is near a creek with plenty of outdoor seating. I travel weekly around the US and the food at this location was excellent. I had the Vegetarian Fajitas with great flavor actual veggies unlike some locations that only give out peppers and onions. The guacamole was real homemade and not the mushy baby food like you get at other locations. The staff are friendly, attentive with great service! I will definitely return!
